Comparing the cost of a collaborative divorce to a traditional divorce is a difficult question. Each divorce is unique. The parties, their community property, their ability to change their lifestyles, how long they take to learn new skillsets, all will fold into what the cost is going to be. I generally find in medium or high conflict cases, a collaborative divorce will cost them much less than litigation. They will be in litigation for a long period of time and every time they go to the courthouse, the meter is running.
